Our Expertise

What We Offer

Providing expert legal advice and representation across the full range of family law services from property settlements, parenting arrangements and divorce through to alternative dispute resolution and financial agreements (sometimes called prenuptial agreements).
A property settlement sets out how the assets of the relationship will be divided following breakdown of a marriage or de facto relationship.

We look at your family to identify what parenting arrangement suits you and your children best. That can be and often is different for each family.

Some clients prefer to enter into an agreement for periodic or lump sum support. In other matters a departure Order or other relief is necessary.

An agreement can be entered into before the relationship commences, after the relationship has commenced or when the relationship has broken down.

Extensive experience in assisting clients through Court proceedings. What seems daunting at first becomes much easier with clear advice and understanding.

The key to achieving many settlements without the need to commence Court proceedings is by offering proper advice for both parties.

For married couples who have been separated for at least 12 months and feel that the marriage has broken down irretrievably, divorce is an option.

Parenting matters in particular require mediation to resolve any issues before either party can ask a Court for adjudication.

If there has been domestic violence in your family you should discuss them with us at the earliest opportunity so we can identify what steps need to be taken.

There are many occasions when you need a new Will. They include when you get married, when you separate and when you commence a de facto relationship.

When negotiation fails or it is taking too long for an agreement to be reached using traditional exchanges of communication we offer mediation as an alternative pathway to try and resolve the issues.

The executor of an estate is responsible for collecting the deceased’s assets, paying any debts and then distributing the assets to the beneficiaries.

Your Enduring Guardian may make decisions such as where you live, what services are provided to you at home and what medical treatment you receive.

A Power of Attorney is a legal document that gives an individual the right to make certain decisions on your behalf when you no longer have the mental capacity to do so on your own.

Norwest Family Law will assist with all aspects of property conveyancing, including the purchase of new properties and sales of existing properties.
